What to expect?

Your students will form a lively percussion group, filling the room with proud & contagious grins as our traditionally dressed facilitators share their culture in a fun, inclusive and engaging way.  Cultural storytelling and examples of what childhood is like in Guinea, West Africa forms part of this engaging 45 minute workshop.  Where cultural sensitivity and understanding is achieved in a fun and inclusive way.

All workshops are led by Multi-instrumentalist, Amadou Kalissa, from Guinea West Africa.  Amadou comes from a musical (griot – culture keeper) family where he played the Kora (African harp) and Djembe (Hand Drum) at age 10, taught by his father and grandfather.  Amadou has over 12 years experience delivering these workshops and is a warm and patient teacher with a calming energy.
