“African Drumming Incursion

Amadou visited our kindergarten to demonstrate and collaborate with two groups of three year old children in June.
This experience was enlightening, educational and thoroughly enjoyed by all of the children and staff who participated.
The “hands-on” opportunity to play the djembes was exciting and it was such fun to dance and sing to the beat as well.
I commend Amadou for his gentle, encouraging and positive interactions with the children and would like to mention how inclusive the sessions were for all children in the group.
Reserved, new members of our group and children with English as a second language were equally keen to engage and be involved throughout the entire time.
Thanks also to Amadou for sharing information about his homeland, Guinea, and for offering to answer questions about his childhood and culture.
